Human Centered Artificial Intelligence

In high-value or regulated industries, inadequate AI implementation carries significant risks—from costly consequences to potentially life-threatening outcomes.

Traditional UX approaches may fail to ensure successful adoption of AI alongside a satisfying user experience. As the leader of the 'Human-Centered AI' capability, Dave focuses on enhancing the skillsets of UX practitioners by providing additional knowledge, methodologies, and tools to maximise project success.

Dave spearheaded BAE Digital Intelligence's Human-Centered AI capability, driving innovation by turning first-time initiatives into valuable, reusable knowledge across the business. His leadership is central to numerous projects that leverage the transformative power of AI throughout the organisation.

Talking to the industry.

Dave was invited to speak at the World Usability Congress in Graz, Austria. The conference showcased speakers from all across the globe leading on all things AI. A powerful opportunity to compare and contrast the knowledge, methodologies and tooling changing the way companies are utilising AI strategies.

In a world where we generate over 2.5 quintillion bytes of data everyday, big data just keeps getting bigger. The ever-increasing amounts of data, across all industries, are driving adoption of AI methods that support decision-making. Users are relying on AI algorithms to make critical decisions, but do users simply want the ‘answer’? Will they know why the information is important? Can they really trust it?

Continuous improvement

The rush to unlock the potential of Artificial Intelligence often places more emphasis on technology than on actual business value. Tools and techniques are frequently viewed as quick fixes, with little attention given to adoption, utilisation, and long-term impact. Dave seeks to counter this by continuously honing his skills through external training, focusing on strategic implementation that delivers sustainable value for his clients.

Dave actively pursues continuous learning to stay at the forefront of AI advancements. He has completed several DeepLearning.ai courses to master the latest techniques and maximise the impact of his work. Additionally, he has completed the world-renowned MIT Sloan and CSAIL course on 'Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy,' ensuring his clients benefit from trusted, cutting-edge solutions to their business challenges.
